For the second consecutive year Red Oak Consulting attended HPC & Big Data 2018 held at the Victoria Plaza Hotel, London, on the 6th February. Not only were we one of the exhibitors but we also held our very own seminar focused on HPC in the Cloud (Theory and Practice). The seminar had a great turn out with a record breaking attendance of 121 attendees. The seminar was hosted by our Managing Consultant, Dairsie Latimer. The interest was so high the organisers had to, sadly, turn people away.
The presentation covered off those uncertainties and myths relating to the cloud technology. It covered off HPC, the costs involved for traditional on premise and those associated cloud costs and how the two compare. Cloud technology is progressing and it is certainly coming to the world of HPC. The aim of the Red Oak Consulting seminar was to share our knowledge and focus peoples minds on what to look for, what questions to ask and how to get the best solutions. The presentation certainly assisted in answering questions, generating debate and getting people to focus!
